FSSAI invites scientists and civil servants to apply for positions in the Food Safety and Standards Authority


 

Food Safety and Standards Authority(FSSAI) constituted under Food Safety and Standards Act,2006 is the regulatory authority for laying down safety and quality standards in the food sector and monitoring implementation of those standards.  Authority is now engaged in structuring the systems to be put in place, identify the required skills and the right individuals to drive a dynamic, forward looking, and proactive organization that needs to play a critical role in promoting safety of food in the country. A tenure with the Authority, either for a limited period or on a regular basis, offers one of the most challenging, innovative and creative assignments available to scientists, food professionals and administrators to be at the cutting edge of building a world-class regulatory structure that is science based, proactive and responsive to the needs of the 21st century. Areas in which positions are likely to be available are the followingFood safety surveillance, regulation, epidemiology, genetically modified food, contaminants in the food chain, standards formulation,nutrition, meat science, toxicology, food molecular biology, post harvest food process engineering, science communication, risk management, laboratory protocols.
