Shri V.N.Gaur took over the charge of Chief Executive Officer, Food Safety and Standards Authority, in the rank of Additional Secretary to Government of India with effect from 9th February, 2009.
He did his Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Allahabad and he also holds a Diploma in Computer Software Technology.
Belonging to 1978 batch of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Shri Gaur has held various assignments in the Central Government & the State Government of Nagaland. His wide administrative experience includes inter alia, Food & Civil Supplies, Rural Development, Public Health Engineering, Tourism, Information and Public Relations, and Information Technology and Defence Production. Prior to joining FSSAI, he held the position of Joint Secretary, Police Division in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Vasundhara Deodhar, Gold Medallist at both B.A. (1970) & M.A. (1972), University of Mumbai. Presently she is an active member and volunteer contributor for Mumbai Grahak Panchayat. After a successful career of 21 years, holding various positions of increasing responsibility; retired voluntarily as Senior Manager, Computer Cell of Mumbai Suburban Region, Bank of Maharashtra.
She was involved in “Train the trainer” programme for 220 schools in South Mumbai, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (2008),organised similar seminars jointly with UICT, Mumbai. Vasundhara Deodhar has authored over 100 educational articles related to consumer awareness in daily news papers like Loksatta , Lokmat ,Times of India etc. She ran a series of articles in “Dainik Gaokari”, a regional newspaper covering topics related to food - reading labels, spoilage, preservation, packaging & related aspects.

Bejon Misra has been in the consumer movement in India for the last 26 years starting from Jamshedpur in 1983 as the founder of the Consumer Guidance Society of Jamshedpur. He is a management graduate with marketing as major from the Banaras Hindu University. He is a Board Member on several Consumer Organisations and has worked with Governments on Consumer Protection & Education within the policies and regulations. He has been a member on several working groups and task forces.
He was the Chairman and Founder Governing Council Member of the Consumer Coordination Council (CCC). He is also the founder of Cell for Consumer Education & Advocacy (CCEA) of Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC). He has represented India as a consumer representative at various Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) meetings, especially in the Codex Committee on Food Labelling (CCFL). He has also lead the Indian Delegation and participated at ISO meetings abroad. He is an International Expert on building user focus in the Quality Management Systems in the public and private sector organisations.
